Poor Diet

I myself have suffered the affects of poor nutrition/eating habits. I have done experiments alternating a week on healthy foods to a week of processed foods and junk and recorded how I felt, my mood performance…I have also been in positions where I could not or choose not make healthy decisions and have looked back and compared then to when I eat healthy.

The Human body is a complex living machine and what we choose to fuel ourselves with has a major impact on our energy, performance, recovery, mood etc. Many people go everyday eating poorly; feeling slow, drained, depressed and are unaware that what we eat makes the difference between feeling amazing and felling like crap.

Our bodies our alive; made up of millions of complex biological processes. Our mental and physical health depend on these processes being in balance and proper nutrition is the key. We need these key nutrients everyday to keep these processes running. We need proteins, carbs, fats, vitamins, minerals, amino acids….. lacking these nutrients affects our cognitive ability and can also put you on a path to develop serious health problems as you get older.  Poor eating habits deficient in these nutrients causes depression, poor performance, low energy; increase your risk of developing high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, osteoporosis and cancer, according to Australia’s Monash University.

There are many ongoing studies about what happens when our bodies are deficient of the different nutrients. Three really good documentaries about this subject are posted here and I highly recommend that watch them for you own benefit and that of your families.

MOASS

This smoothie for breakfast goes a long way. It is packed full of nutrients that will make you feel great all day long. I know when I have this I feel the benefits all day long.

As I stated above our bodies our alive, so it only makes sense to fuel our bodies with living ingredients. To often we choose to eat cooked, fried, dead, processed food that contain empty calories and are unhealthy. Many of us are on the go so we choose convenient snacks and meals. We need to eat things that are alive too and it takes less than five minutes to enjoy this. It takes longer to wait in line at a fast food place then to make this and it taste amazing.

  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein
  • 100ml Pro-biotic Laban or Yogurt (if you are using yogurt thin with water)
  • Ice
  • 1/2 of a Banana
  • 1/4 of an Avocado
  • 1 heaping hand full of Baby Spinach
  • 1 hand full of Blueberries
  • 1/4tsp Cinnamon

Through is in a blend or in a protein cup using a hand blender and GO!
